NORWALK, CT – July 20, 2016 –The Veterinary Cancer Center (The VCC) of Norwalk, Connecticut, announced today, it is merged with the Compassion-First Pet Hospitals family of well-known veterinary hospitals.
Located at 129 Glover Ave, in Norwalk, The VCC was founded in 1998 by Gerald Post, DVM, MEM, DACVIM (Oncology) and is the only specialized veterinary practice dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer in animals.
“As the only standalone veterinary hospital solely dedicated to treating cancer in animals, we are constantly seeking new alternatives to treat cancer says Dr. Gerald Post. “We have entered an age where consumer demands on medical advancements is growing. To meet these demands, we needed a partner like Compassion-First Pet Hospitals to help us take the critical next step forward to advance oncology care. Unlike veterinary consolidator Compassion First focuses on quality of medicine, client service and hospital culture first and foremost; allowing us to focus on being the best veterinary cancer center in the world.”
Founded in 2014, Compassion-First is a collaborative family of hospitals that retain their equity, uniqueness, integrity and medical decisions. With Compassion-First, hospitals gain the benefit of working together, maximizing their resources, and are united by a common passion to put pet owners and their pets at the center of care.
“The VCC’s commitment to advancing oncology treatment through chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy and surgery should be established as a model of care.” Says John Payne, CEO of Compassion-First. “Our hope is to assist them in sharing their expertise with the profession. We are absolutely thrilled to have them join our family of hospitals.”
Dr. Gerlad Post and David Duchemin, COO will continue to lead the medical and operational needs of The Veterinary Cancer Center. For more information, please visit http://theveterinarycancercenter.com
